"Say 'Pakistan Zindabad' And I Will Break Your Legs," Warns Assam CM Sarma

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has issued a strong warning against those raising pro-Pakistan slogans, stating that anyone heard saying "Pakistan Zindabad" would face immediate arrest and violent consequences.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Dhubri on Friday, May 2, Sarma said, “We have arrested a number of them, and if anyone raises 'Pakistan Zindabad', we will break his legs.”

The chief minister’s comments followed the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, where at least 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed by suspected Pakistani terrorists on April 22. Expressing grief over the incident, Sarma called for prayers to give strength to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Army to pursue terrorists globally.

Addressing the crowd, Sarma specified that those living in India but praising Pakistan would not be tolerated. “That’s why I have instructed the police not to look at faces. Arrest them and break their legs as per law. We have to strengthen our Assam and India,” he asserted.

Sarma also criticised the Congress, alleging that its rule in Assam had brought insecurity and corruption. He claimed that under Congress, even Anganwadi jobs required bribes, and middlemen dominated all processes.
