Monthly Stipend will be Provided to People Stranded Outside Assam

GUWAHATI: Assam Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, on 21st May, said that under the AssamCares scheme, the second instalment of Rs 2,000 will be released to the bank accounts of people who are still residing outside the state and have already registered for the same.

"Rs 70 crores will be released tomorrow (May 22) and more than 3 lakh people will be benefitted," said Sarma.

Already Rs 72,23,40,000 has been released for the first instalment last month.

Also, a third instalment for the month of June will be provided.

"Assam is the only state to provide a second instalment for its people stranded outside," added Sarma.

Further district authorities, MLAs and even guardians are asked to contact helpline number 104 and inform about people who are liable for the AssamCares help but do not have a bank account. If an alternate account number is provided, the financial help will be dispersed after scrutiny.
