GUWAHATI: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting Assam, the State Government seems to have acquired the public buses and other small city-based public transportation for the event in Changsari, leaving regular city commuters in dire straits.

"I am unable to get a direct bus to my workplace from Khanapara. All the buses seem engaged on Modi duty. Now these private cab services are charging extra money and taking advantage of the situation." said a commuter speaking to G Plus.

However, massive traffic jams were reported in areas like Bharalumukh, Maligaon and Jalukbari.

It is to be mentioned that commuters in the city will bear the brunt of the Vijay Sankalp (victory pledge) rally scheduled to be held at Changsari.
