Guwahati Chess Academy Players Receive FIDE Ratings

 

GUWAHATI: Four players from the Guwahati Chess Academy have been awarded FIDE ratings in the latest April 2024 FIDE Rating List released by the World Chess Federation. The recipients, Bhaumik Kishore Das, Hriyan Kaushik Thakuria, Tamanna Sarma, and Tanishq Thakuira, received their ratings based on their performances at the 1st Sakatam Open International FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2024, held in Guwahati from March 23rd to March 28th.

Bhaumik Kishore Das led the group with a FIDE rating of 1550, followed by Hriyan Kaushik Thakuria with 1472. Tamanna Sarma and Tanishq Thakuira secured ratings of 1461 and 1449, respectively, reflecting their strong performances in the tournament.

Under the guidance of FIDE Instructor Pranab Kumar Nath, these young chess players have shown remarkable growth and continue to improve their skills at the Guwahati Chess Academy. Chief Coach Pranab Kumar Nath, on behalf of the Guwahati Chess Academy, extended heartfelt congratulations to Bhaumik, Hriyan, Tamanna, and Tanishq for their accomplishments and expressed confidence that they will continue to represent the academy with distinction in future competitions.
