GUWAHATI: A memorial meet and book launch event was organized in memory of Justice Baharul Islam on April 24. Justice Islam was a Supreme Court Judge, Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court and three time Member of Parliament.
The program was convened by Nazrul Islam, Advocate, Gauhati High Court in association with the Gauhati High Court Bar Association.
The distinguished guests at the event included Justice AS Bopanna, Chief Justice, Gauhati High Court, Justice Hrishikesh Roy, Chief Justice, High Court of Kerala, Justice Dr. Aftab Hussain Saikia, Former Chief Justice, High Courts of Jammu & Kashmir and Sikkim, and Justice DN Choudhury.
The speakers spoke about the impactful career and contributions of Justice Islam both in legal and public life.
Roshan Farhan, organizing committee member, remarked, “We are honoured to have this event in memory of Justice Baharul Islam, the book sheds insights on his remarkable career, landmark legal judgements, and immense contribution to public life.”
