MBBS/BDS Counselling Process Update In Assam

GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has announced a temporary hold on the 2nd round of online counselling and choice filling for admission to vacant MBBS/BDS seats in Government Medical and Dental Colleges under the state quota for the 2024 session. This has been announced by Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu on X on October 4.

In a related development, the DME has also notified all concerned candidates about an offline counselling and document verification session. This will be conducted for candidates seeking admission into the 1st year of MBBS/BDS courses under the 5% Government School quota for the 2024 session. The counselling is scheduled for October 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at the office of the DME, Assam, located in Sixmile, Khanapara, Guwahati-22.

The list of provisionally eligible candidates has been uploaded to the DME's official website (www.dme.assam.gov.in). Only those whose NEET-UG 2024 Roll Numbers appear on this list will be allowed to participate. All candidates are required to bring their original documents along with any other relevant paperwork for the counselling process.

The DME has also clarified that a revised schedule for online counselling, along with a fresh seat matrix, will be published after the completion of the offline counselling session. Candidates have been urged to regularly check the official website for further updates.
