GUWAHATI: A man lost his life after being hit by a speeding train while crossing the railway tracks in Chandmari on Saturday, December 28 at around 5:15 PM.

A local witness, speaking to GPlus, stated, "The person was crossing the rail line when the speeding train hit him. He was hit hard and may have died on the spot. We have informed the police."
An official from the Chandmari Police Station confirmed the incident and said, “Such cases come under the jurisdiction of the Government Railway Police (GRP). We have informed them, and a team is on the way.”
The identity of the deceased is yet to be determined. Further details are awaited as investigations continue.
