GUWAHATI: Residents of Prince Residency in Guwahati’s Six Mile area were left in shock and fear late last night after a man entered the apartment complex wielding a sword on March 11.

The armed suspect, identified as Devajit Kutum, caused widespread panic among the residents. He allegedly tried to take away a woman.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from Dispur police station said, “Arriving drunk, Kutum wanted to take a girl with him from the society who was his acquaintance. She went with him willingly and also returned today morning. Both of them were in agreement. But the residents were opposed to this.”
Kutum, who is believed to own a lodge, has been accused of creating chaos within the residential complex. Following the incident, residents filed a complaint at Dispur Police Station.
Authorities are investigating the matter, and further details are awaited.
