Local resident Sazish Ul Haque shared visuals of the situation, showing stranded pedestrians and congested traffic. The leakage, linked to the Guwahati Jal Board (GJB), raised fresh concerns over the reliability of the city's water supply infrastructure.

Speaking to GPlus, a senior GJB official confirmed that the fault was detected in the morning, prompting an immediate cut-off of the supply. "Repairs will be done by the end of the day," the official assured.

However, residents remain sceptical about the efficiency of the repairs, given the frequent mishaps reported under GJB’s water supply project. With recurring pipeline failures, many are questioning whether the issue will be resolved promptly or if further disruptions are on the horizon.
