GUWAHATI: A Special Task Force (STF) team seized heroin in Guwahati’s Amingaon on Wedneday, March 11 from a vehicle.

The STF team, led by Additional SP (STF) Kalyan Kr. Pathak, intercepted a vehicle at Amingaon based on a tip-off. The vehicle was traveling from Jirighat, near the Assam-Manipur border.
During a thorough search, officials recovered 41 soap boxes containing 533 gram of heroin concealed inside the vehicle. The narcotics were seized, and two individuals involved in the transportation of the contraband were taken into custody.
Authorities have also confiscated the vehicle used in the operation. Further investigations are underway to determine the extent of the drug network and any possible connections.
Earlier in the day, Latasil Police seized 28 soap boxes containing 1 kg 10 grams of suspected heroin in Silpukhuri. The operation took place at around 11:00 AM, leading to the arrest of an individual identified as Shahid Ahmed.
