GUWAHATI: Indian team's ace cricketer and former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is likely to unfurl the tricolour on the occasion of Independence Day in Leh- the newly-created union territory of Ladakh.
It is to be mentioned that Lt Col Dhoni, an honorary lieutenant colonel, is currently stationed in Khrew in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, along with members of his Territorial Army battalion.

Defence sources said on August 8 that Lt Col Dhoni is scheduled to travel along with his regiment to Leh on August 10.
However, officials did not disclose the exact location where Lt Col Dhoni is likely to hoist the national flag on Independence Day, August 15.
