Assam: Former Darrang SP Dismissed For Malpractices

 

GUWAHATI: Raj Mohan Ray, who previously served as the Superintendent of Police in Darrang district, faced disciplinary action resulting in his dismissal from service, effective from April 1, 2024.

Assam's Director General of Police (DGP), GP Singh, declared the imposition of severe penalties in line with the state's zero-tolerance policy towards malpractices within the Assam Police force. This penalty entails disqualification for future employment within the police force by MyGov Assam.

Taking to X, DGP Singh stated, “In pursuance of policy of Zero tolerance towards malpractices in @assampolice, Sri Raj Mohan Ray APS, the then Superintendent of Police Darrang,  has been awarded penalty of “dismissal from service, which shall ordinarily be disqualification for future employment” on April 1st 2024 by @mygovassam.”
