GUWAHATI: Assam Minister for Higher Education, School Education, and Tribal Affairs, Ranoj Pegu in a discussion with the Executive Director, Vipin Gupta, of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) Lower Subansiri Hydro Project confirmed that a total of 16 erosion protection projects along the Subansiri River, extending beyond 30 kilometres from the Dam, have been sanctioned.
These projects come with an estimated cost of ₹189.05 crore.
Taking to Twitter, Pegu stated, “Talked to the ED Sri Vipin Gupta of NHPC Lower Subansiri Hydro Project today. Confirmed that 16 erosion protection works on Subansiri beyond 30 km of the Dam with an estimated cost of Rs. 189.05 Cr have been sanctioned. @nhpcltd has started floating the tenders. @himantabiswa @Pijush_hazarika @PradanBaruah @manabdeka”
These projects are expected to play a pivotal role in preventing erosion-related issues in the region, ensuring the long-term stability and sustainability of the Lower Subansiri Hydro Project.
