GUWAHATI: The AGP has announced that it will contest for upcoming Lok Sabha from Kaliabor, Barpeta and Dhubri constituencies. The development comes after the party leadership had a meeting with BJP president Amit Shah in the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on March 16th, 2019
Addressing the media, AGP chief Atul Bora also said that the Amit Shah has promised them of Rajya Sabha seat which will be discussed later. He also informed that the party’s stand on opposing the Citizenship bill is firm and that in the future both the parties will take decisions on the Bill by consulting each other.
It may be mentioned that the party has been facing a backlash from party loyalist and from the people after it decided to go for re alliance. AGP will announce the name of the candidates on March 17th, 2019.
