GUWAHATI: The Kamrup Metropolitan (M) District Administration has issued an order stating that only fully vaccinated Government employees will be permitted to attend office. The Administration has further asked those who are not fully vaccinated to take leave.
The order read, "All government servants (including contractual and fixed pay) under Kamrup Metropolitan District should be fully vaccinated and shall attend office. Employees who are not fully vaccinated will not be allowed to attend office and they will have to avail leave if available or extra ordinary leave for which they will not be paid salary".
Any violation of the order will attract action under the provision of the Assam COVID-19 Regulation 2020, Disaster Management Act 2005, the Epidemic Disease Act 1897 and other relevant laws of the nation.
The order has been issued after reviewing the COVID-19 situation of the Kamrup Metro District. It has been observed that the number of cases have been gradually increasing over the last few days, thereby increasing the positivity rate.
On January 11, Kamrup (M) recorded 870 fresh COVID-19 positive cases.
