GUWAHATI: Indian Railways will be running an additional 196 pairs of Festive Special Trains this upcoming festive season from the 20th October to the 30th November.
The proposal to operate such special trains to ease the rush of passengers during the festive season was given by the Zonal Railways. The Ministry of Railways, approving the same posted on its official Twitter handle, "To clear the festive rush, Ministry of Railways has approved 196 pairs (392 trains) of “Festival Special” services over Indian Railways to be operated from 20th October 2020 and 30th November 2020. Zonal Railways will notify their schedule in advance."
The fares applicable for these trains will be similar to the earlier specials ones, and the timings as regular trains.
Amongst these are six pairs of trains under the Northeast Frontier Railway on a daily, weekly, and tri-weekly basis.
