Incessant rain affects train services in North Bank of Assam

GUWAHATI: Due to heavy rain and consequent sudden flow of water with heavy thrust, majority of train services in North Bank portion of Assam had been cancelled.

According to Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), a portion of the bridge approach of bridge number 693 at km 358 / 3-4 over Jiadhal river between Dhemaji and Bordoloni stations under Rangiya Division has been washed away. 

As a result, the following trains have been short terminated/cancelled. 

1. 15614 Murkongselek – Kamakhya Lachit Express of 14.09.2018 will remain canceled.

2. 15613 Kamakhya – Murkongselek Lachit Express of 14.09.2018 will be short terminated at North Lakhimpur. 

3. 15614 Murkongselek – Kamakhya Lachit Express of 15.09.2018 will originate from North Lakhimpur.

4. 15613 Kamakhya – Murkongselek Lachit Express of 15.09.2018 will remain cancelled.

5. 55896 Murkongselek – Rangiya passenger train of 15.09.2018 will remain canceled between Murkongselek and Bishwanath Chariali.

6. 55895 Rangiya – Murkongselek passenger train of 15.09.2018 will be short terminated at Bishwanath Chariali and will remain canceled between Bishwanath Chariali and Murkongselek. The train will return as 55896 Murkongselek – Rangiya passenger train from Bishwanath Chariali to Rangiya.

7. 55813 Dekargaon – Murkongselek – Dekargaon passenger train of 15.09.2018 will be short terminated at North Lakhimpur and will return as 55814 passenger train from North Lakhimpur to Dekargaon.

8. 55813 / 55814 Murkongselek – Dekargaon passenger train of 15.09.2018 will remain partially canceled between Murkongselek and Bishwanath Chariali.
