Speaking to GPlus, a senior police official revealed, "The official was in civil dress and not on duty. The matter escalated as he was in an intoxicated state and went to the pub to purchase more liquor. Meanwhile, there are allegations that he misbehaved with two women present in the pub, who are close to the owner. The situation later ended up in a scuffle, which included dousing of the police official with mobil and he being bashed up."

However, no order of suspension has been served on the policeman, a constable by rank.

The senior official asserted that Assam Police doesn't entertain any such nuisance even if matters are related to its own personnel.
