The system has received recognition from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and is currently undergoing field trials with the Indian Army.

The robots, developed by Da Spatio Rhobotique Laboratory Pvt. Ltd (DSRL), a startup incubated at IIT Guwahati, will aim to enhance border security by overcoming the limitations of drones, stationary cameras, and manual patrolling. CEO of DSRL, Arnab Kumar Barman, highlighted the system’s ability to operate seamlessly in challenging environments while providing continuous vigilance.

"Equipped with seamless pole traversal capabilities, adaptive obstacle navigation, and AI-driven reconnaissance, this robotic system is a game-changer for border protection and strategic defence applications," Barman said. "Our mission is to develop cutting-edge surveillance solutions that address evolving national security challenges."

The surveillance system also features multi-sensor intelligence gathering, which can improve threat detection and deterrence. "The AI-driven system exemplifies the transformative potential of deep-tech startups in bolstering India's defence capabilities,” Keyur Sorathia, Head of the Technology Incubation Centre at IIT Guwahati said. “With the Indian Army conducting field trials, the system is advancing towards large-scale deployment in sensitive areas."
