Tezpur University (TU) and IIT-Guwahati have been featured in the recently published QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) BRICS University Rankings 2018.
Launched in 2013, the QS BRICS University Rankings evaluate and rank the top 300 universities from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS). IIT-Guwahati is in the 52nd position while Tezpur University (TU) has been placed in the 171-180th bracket in this year's rankings.
The evaluation is done with weightage being given to eight factors — academic reputation (30%), employer reputation (20%), faculty/student ratio (20%), staff with a PhD (10%), papers per faculty (10%), citations per paper (5%), international faculty (2.5%) and international students (2.5%).
