GUWAHATI: Just moments before the BJP released their first list of Candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, BJP national president Amit Shah in a tweet said that Assam Minister and NEDA Convenor Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will not contest the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha Polls.
Shah tweeted that Dr. Sarma will currently carry out his current porfolio as the Minister of Assam Cabinet and the Convenor Of NEDA. Shah also said that he will carry out the work to strengthen the party in region and carry out developmental works.
He also urged Party workers and BJP supporters in Assam to support the decision with open heart.
