GUWAHATI: A horrific incident of sexual assault took place in a village in Yamunanagar district of Haryana during the night of 24th December, where four men allegedly gang-raped a 37-year-old woman from Nepal after tying up her husband.
"Five persons with covered faces came in a car at the tube-well where we were staying at around 11 pm on Thursday. I along with my daughter was sleeping in the room and my husband was sleeping in the verandah. They tied my husband. Four people raped me,” a report by The Times of India quoted the rape survivor as saying.
She further stated that she pushed the fifth person when he tried to sexually assault her. He fell down, following which he threatened her with dire consequences and fled. She then untied her husband.
The two later narrated the incident before their landlord, who accompanied them to the local police station. A case was registered against the five accused and the investigation into the case is currently underway.
