GUWAHATI: A resident of Amgaon was found hanging from a ceiling fan of his house under mysterious circumstances on Junuary 8.
The deceased has been idenfied as Hazrat Ali.
The Panikhaiti police outpost, suspecting the entire incident,arrested the wife of the deceased for her alleged involvement in the incident.
As per initial reports, the accused woman first allegedly murdered her husband. She allegedly tied his head with a rope to the ceiling giving it a suicide angle.
Rana Bhuyan, in-charge of the outpost, said “Prima facie it appears that the deceased was directly or indirectly forced to take the extreme step.
However, investigation is still on to ascertain the acutal cause of the death.
A case has been registered in this connection and the wife has been booked under Section 302 of IPC.
