GUWAHATI: Though it is only April, the temperature of Guwahati soared to 39 degrees Celsius on Monday. This is the first time that the maximum temperature has reached as high as 39 and it's only the 10th of April today.
The humidity on Monday is 98% with the wind blowing at 11 km/hr.
Along with the high temperature, the dust storm is making it difficult for the people on Guwahati streets today. With the ongoing construction works across the city, the construction materials which lie unattended by the side of the road are blinding the people causing itchiness in the eyes and other respiratory issues.
Time and again, dust and debris, and accompanying pollution have made the residents of the city face a whole lot of problems as far as living their collective lives is concerned. The poor air quality is apparently affecting people with respiratory issues, who are out on the road for a prolonged period of time.
With Rongali Bihu celebrations just around the corner, the extreme weather condition is bound to make people struggle in the heat. This is the first time that Guwahati is witnessing such harsh temperatures in April.
As per weather.com, the temperature in Guwahati is most likely to increase in the next few days with 38-39 degrees Celsius being the average.
During Bihu celebrations which are on April 14 and 15, the temperature is forecasted to go up to 40-41 degrees Celsius with a minimum temperature of 25 degrees after sunset.
