GUWAHATI: Acting on a complaint filed by the school management at Basistha Police Station, the conductor of a school bus of Kendriya Vidyalaya, CRPF, 9th Mile has been arrested by Basistha police for allegedly sexually assaulting students inside the bus.
The accused has been identified as Manoj Kalita. He was booked and arrested from the school gate on Wednesday.
Following complaints by guardians of several students, the police registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to sources, the accused had been sexually harassing students for a long time.
