Kamrup Metropolitan District Prepares For Guwahati Lok Sabha Election

 

GUWAHATI: A review meeting was held in Guwahati on Wednesday to discuss the preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The meeting was chaired by District Commissioner and Returning Officer Sumit Sattavan, with key participants including General Observer Keshav Singhania of the Indian Administrative Service, Police Observer K Raghuram Reddy of the Indian Police Service, and Expenditure Observer T James Singson of the Indian Revenue Service.

General Observer Singhania emphasised the importance of adherence to the election code of conduct and urged all parties to report any complaints or objections to the appropriate authorities without delay. Expenditure Observer Singson addressed financial compliance, stating that each candidate must have a separate bank account in their name, which will be audited three times: on April 27, April 30, and May 3. 

To facilitate the reporting of complaints, the observers provided their contact information. Complaints related to election expenditure can be reported to 98642-22411, while general complaints can be directed to 99890-93764. Complaints related to the police observer can be reported to 60037-75696.

During the meeting, Sattavan urged all parties to cooperate to ensure a smooth election process. He underscored the importance of maintaining transparency and urged all stakeholders to act responsibly.
