GUWAHATI: In a road accident reported at the flyover connecting Ulubari and Guwahati Club, two people lost their lives and two others were severely injured on the night of Tuesday, February 6.
According to reports, the incident took place when two speeding bikes collided head on leading to such a fatal outcome.
Rakesh Das, originally from Rangia, and Parameshwar Deka, originally from Gareshwar, have been identified as the deceased individuals. According to sources, the two lived in the Silpukhuri area.
Out of the two severely injured, one has been identified as Mithun Choudhary who resides in a rented house at Uzan Bazaar. The other individual is yet to be identified as both have been admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
While speaking to GPlus, a traffic official from Paltan Bazaar Police Station said, "The incident took place at around 11:35 PM, both the bikes crashed into each other at a high speed. All four of them were in critical condition and were rushed to GMCH, unfortunately two could not survive."
