GUWAHATI: Heavy traffic jam occurred in the Maligaon area of Guwahati in the morning hours of Monday, March 1. The dense traffic continued from Adabari area up to Kamakhya gate.
Commuters, especially office goers, were the worst to be affected. "This area already has so much traffic but today it was more than usual," said Arunav Thakuria.
In the same vein, another commuter Shiv Sharma said, “I was stranded in the jam for more than an hour and got late for office. On one side of the road, tens of buses filled with commuters were lined up and students could be seen panicking because they were getting late for exams.”
Meanwhile, G Plus contacted the traffic police who revealed that the cause for the traffic has been the overturning of a dumper truck. This was informed to G Plus by Sushil Saikia from the Maligaon Police Station (PS).
