GUWAHATI: In a recent operation, a joint team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) on Wednesday intercepted a massive consignment of cannabis in Guwahati, as per official reports.
According to the official reports, the cannabis consignment was intercepted and seized during a joint operation carried out at the Kamakhya Railway Station in Guwahati's Maligaon area.
Talking to G Plus an official from Railway Protection Force (RPF) stated, “We have intercepted the consignment and two people have been detained by the officials and charged with smuggling the contraband.”
Official information also revealed that the detained in the matter told the police during the interrogation process that the cannabis was being planned to be smuggled to Bihar.
Further investigations are underway as more details are awaited.
