GUWAHATI: A man named Dipak Rabha was found in the ground in front of a building in Bhetapara. Rabha was later taken to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and then to Apollo Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.

As per sources close to the matter, Rabha's death has been linked with murder due to his coal business at the tune of Rs 1.5 crore.

Meanwhile, the Police have not termed the death as ‘murder’ and are further investigating the matter.

"We heard noises from the building and as such we used our Siren to alert," said Biren Deka, Officer in Charge, Hatigaon Police Station in Guwahati. The locals claimed Rabha jumped from the balcony upon hearing the siren.

"We did not see him jump as we just found him in the ground," said Deka.

The official revealed Rabha was linked with the coal business and three of his trucks were confiscated by the Basistha Police earlier. This might be the cause for him to panic upon knowing the Police was near. The police are investigating possible links with the coal trade to ascertain any connection.
