Guwahati: Maligaon Flyover To Be Inaugurated At 4:30 PM

GUWAHATI: The much-awaited Maligaon flyover will be inaugurated on August 30 at 4:30 PM.

Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma will inaugurate the flyover in the presence of Ashok Singhal, Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs and Irrigation, Queen Oja, Member of Parliament (LS), Atul Bora Member of Legislative Assembly, Dispur, Siddharth Bhattacharya, Member of Legislative Assembly, East Guwahati and Ramendra Narayan Kalita Member of Legislative Assembly, West Guwahati.

 

The flyover, stretching from Maligaon Chariali to Kamakhya Gate on AT Road, boasts an extended arm to Pandu Ghat Feeder Road.

The construction of the 4-lane steel girder flyover commenced in March 2021, with a total investment of ₹420.75 crore. The flyover spans an impressive 2.63 km, becoming the longest flyover in Assam.

The project was engineered by the Assam PWD, and constructed by a joint venture of Shree Gautam Construction Co Ltd and Anupam Nirman Pvt Ltd.

The foundation stone for the project was laid in October 2020. Following a wait of almost three years, the residents of Guwahati can now look forward to a smoother and more efficient commuting experience as the flyover becomes operational.
