GUWAHATI: Assam's Nipjyoti Barua, who represented India in various Table Tennis championships, passed away on August 29, Saturday.
Barua was suffering from Covid-19 and was admitted at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital in Guwahati.

An alumnus of Don Bosco School, Barua was the National Champion in Table Tennis in his age group (12 years) when he was in class 7.
He had also played for India in the IV th Junior Asian Cup TT Championship 1989 held at New Delhi and the US Open TT 1990 held at Baltimore USA.
