Guwahati: Floating replica of Kamakhya temple in Amingaon grabs attention

GUWAHATI: With lakhs of devotees from across the country thronging in Assam to visit Kamakhaya temple during the ongoing Ambubachi Mela, a floating replica of the temple erected in Amingaon has grabbed the attention of both the devotees and tourists.

Assam Tourism Development Corporation has installed the replica in the heart of Brahmaputra to attract tourists during the four-day long Ambubachi Mela.

It is to be mentioned that the floating replica has been handcrafted by a team led by well-known artisan Arup Jyoti Borkotoky and took around eight days to complete.

The 12 feet long and 40 feet wide replica is made of bamboo, thermocol, ply, plastic bottles and acrylic paint.
