GUWAHATI: A team from Cyber PS successfully recovered ₹130,000 on Sunday, December 1, after it was fraudulently lost in a "digital arrest" scam. The full amount was credited back into the victim's account.

The victim, a resident of Bamunimaidam, had fallen prey to the scam, which led to the fraudulent transfer of funds from their account. The Cyber PS team acted quickly to trace the transaction and ensure the recovery of the stolen amount.
The "digital arrest" scam involves deceiving victims into believing they are under legal threat, often pressuring them to transfer money to avoid fabricated legal consequences. This scam has been on the rise, impacting numerous people across the region.
