Guwahati Admin Limits Use Of Loudspeaker To Max of 45 DB(A) From 10 PM

 

GUWAHATI: The District Commissioner of Police in Guwahati has issued a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure safety and order during the festival on Thursday, October 3.

Organizers must prioritize obtaining fitness certificates for pandals, including checks on electrical fittings and sound systems, to avoid accidents. Strict noise restrictions have also been implemented, limiting loudspeaker use to a maximum of 55 dB (A) between 6 AM and 10 PM, and 45 dB (A) from 10 PM to 6 AM. 

The police authorities are encouraging the use of biodegradable materials for pandals and idols to promote sustainability. Fire safety protocols are mandatory, requiring organizers to equip pandals with extinguishers and sand buckets.

Idol immersions must follow designated routes and timings, as per district administration instructions. Additionally, adequate drinking water facilities must be provided for visitors and devotees, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for all.
