Drinking Water To Be Provided For Visitors And Devotees In Guwahati Durga Puja Pandals

 

GUWAHATI: With the Durga Puja festivities approaching, the District Commissioner of Police in Guwahati has issued a set of strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on Thursday, October 3. Among the key regulations is the provision of adequate drinking water for visitors and devotees.

The organizers are expected to follow the traffic rules and not obstruct the roads, especially during processions, to maintain order. In the case of VIP visitors, prior intimation to the police is to be done and all the security instructions are to be followed.

The guidelines stress the importance of a peaceful and inclusive environment, with public safety announcements warning attendees for pickpockets, suspicious objects, and emergencies; there will be signboards marking the celebration areas clearly as no-tobacco and no-alcohol zones. Security personnel would ensure the following guidelines are strictly observed.

These rules and regulations reflect coordination between the organizers and local authorities, where the priority is given to safety measures all over the festival for all citizens. All devotees and visitors are encouraged to co-operate and have a good time during the Puja, keeping in mind these strict measures.
