GU-affiliated colleges to conduct CET for PG courses

GUWAHATI: Students who are seeking admission in colleges affiliated to Gauhati University in postgraduate (PG) courses will have to appear for a common entrance test (CET) starting this year. 

This process has been made compulsory for all students. According to a statement issued by HK Nath, secretary of university classes at GU and convener of the university’s admission committee, a CET will be held for admission into PG programmes, both in GU and its affiliated colleges that offer masters degree courses as the process of admission for the 2019-20 academic session has begun.

This year, the entrance test will be held from June 29 to July 3. It should also be noted that the entire process of submission of forms will be online this year. 

The last date of submission of forms and payment of entrance fees is June 15. 

A total of 12 examination centres will be set up for the CET exams in Bongaigaon, Sonitpur (erstwhile Darrang), Diphu, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Nagaon, Pathsala, Silchar, North Lakhimpur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and one examination centre inside Gauhati University.
