GUWAHATI: Government Railway Police carried out multiple drug seizures on Saturday, February 8, intercepting large quantities of suspected narcotics at Guwahati railway station. Government Railway Police (GRP) seized 17.80 kg of suspected ganja from two individuals in a raid. The operation took place aboard Train No. 12423 DN New Delhi Rajdhani Express.

The accused, identified as Sonu Mishra (29) and Monoj Kumar (27), hailing from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, were arrested.
In a separate operation at New Bongaigaon Railway Station, the GRP recovered 11.14 kg of ganja from three individuals during a security check.
Meanwhile, a Special Task Force (STF) team led by Additional SP (STF) Kalyan Kr. Pathak intercepted a vehicle travelling from Mizoram at Amingaon. A thorough search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of 50 soap boxes containing 600 gram of heroin. Two suspects were apprehended, and the truck used in the transportation was seized.
Further investigations are underway.
