GUWAHATI: In a significant breakthrough against corruption, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption has successfully apprehended Nayan Barman, the proprietor of a local computer shop situated near the Office of the Circle Officer in Tihu. The arrest was made on charges of accepting bribes, allegedly in collaboration with Debashish Barman, a Lot Mandal from Tihu Revenue Circle, for matters pertaining to land transactions.

The investigation revealed that Nayan Barman, operating as a middleman, conspired with Debashish Barman. Their modus operandi involved demanding bribes for facilitating land-related issues.

In a dramatic twist, the evidence pointed to the fact that Debashish Barman not only demanded bribes but also ingeniously relied on Nayan Barman, acting as an intermediary or "dalal," to receive the illicit funds on his behalf. This collusion highlights the depth of the alleged corruption within the Tihu Revenue Circle, Nalbari.

The sting operation was executed meticulously, leading to the apprehension of the individuals allegedly involved in malpractice. With the arrests of Nayan Barman and Debashish Barman, legal proceedings are set to follow.
