GUWAHATI: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) declared the Higher Secondary (HS) examination results for 2025 at 9 AM on Wednesday, April 30. While overall performances across streams remained strong, this year’s results saw a dip in pass percentages when compared to the record highs of 2024.

In the Arts stream, the pass percentage stood at 81.03%. A total of 2,26,756 students appeared for the exam, and 1,83,745 passed. This marked a drop from the 88.36% recorded in 2024, though still above the 70.12% seen in 2023. Baksa district led the performance in Arts with a pass rate of 94.21%, followed closely by Darrang at 93.82% and Sivasagar at 90.78%.
The Science stream recorded a pass percentage of 84.88%, slightly below the 89.88% of 2024 but nearly matching the 84.96% figure from 2023. Out of 56,909 candidates, 48,309 cleared the exams. West Karbi Anglong district achieved a perfect 100% pass rate in Science, with Sivasagar (97.13%) and Baksa (95.66%) following.
Commerce results showed a similar trend. The pass percentage fell to 82.18% from last year’s 87.66%, though still ahead of the 79.57% in 2023. Of the 17,746 students who appeared, 14,584 were successful. Baksa again featured at the top with a 98.20% pass rate, followed closely by Chirang at 98.15% and West Karbi Anglong at 97.14%.
The Vocational stream recorded the lowest pass percentage this year at 68.55%. Out of 1,202 students, 824 passed. Despite the lower overall percentage, districts like Biswanath and Sribhumi posted a full 100% pass rate. Sivasagar and Barpeta followed with 95.00% and 92.31%, respectively.
