GNM Nurses call off Strike after four days

GUWAHATI: The Central Executive Committee of the All Assam Nurses Association (AANA) on Friday decided to withdraw their protest and has suspended the strike that had been on for past 4 days.

It is to be mentioned that the GNM nurses in Assam decided to withdraw the protest in view of the difficulties faced by the patients across the State.

According to the representatives of the AANA, they will sit in a meeting with the State government on December 4.

The nurses have been asking the state government to resolve the anomalies related to grade pay structure published in the 7th Pay Commission report and service rules, restoration of the abolished designation of 'staff nurses' instead of 'nurse'.
