GUWAHATI: Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) recently introduced bedsheets with printed weekday labels and different colours.

This was revealed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday, January 29.
“Came across this innovative idea on the internet a few days back on mentioning week days in bed sheets & immediately ordered its implementation,” Sarma posted on X. “We've introduced sheets with week days and colours mentioned so the same sheet is not repeated.”
This measure has been implemented to bring more discipline to hospital linen management, reducing the risk of infections and improving patient care.
With the introduction of weekday-tagged bedsheets, the hospital now ensures a systematic rotation, addressing patient concerns about hospital hygiene.
The initiative has been implemented at Nalbari Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) as well.
