GUWAHATI: In a stern action against establishments compromising public health and flouting trade regulations, GMC has sealed two food joints located on GS Road.
The move comes after repeated violations of hygiene standards and operating with invalid trade licenses, posing a potential risk to the health and safety of consumers.

Two restaurants namely Sanjay Hotel and Ananda Jalpan have been sealed and a fine of ₹1,00,000 and ₹35,000 have been levied respectively.
Speaking to a senior official at GMC, he said, "We had received a complaint from Health Department, and when we reached the spot we saw dirty and unhygienic kitchen space and we closed the establishment".
