GMC orders meat shops to be covered with glass

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation on Friday issued stern directives to slaughter houses in the city to maintain strict hygiene. The GMC ordered all the meat shops of the city to arrange for glass covers and initiate cleanliness and hygiene facilities within a period of 7 days.   Authorities of the civic body further said that meat shops failing to adhere to the directives would be closed down.
