GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has appointed three senior officers as part of efforts to enhance revenue collection for the corporation. The three officers, appointed on Tuesday, July 13, will be responsible for six different zones in the city.
The officers have been directed to devise action plans and formulate steps to enhance GMC revenue collection, which includes property tax, fees for issuance and renewal of trade licenses, fees for assessment and reassessment of property, etc.
Additionally, Senior Medical Officers and Veterinary Officers of the GMC have been entrusted with duties of reviewing trade licenses issued and renewed under the Health and Veterinary Branch of GMC respectively.
The three senior officers entrusted to look after the six zones are:
Satyajyoti Baruah, ACS, Joint Commissioner-I, GMC- Central Zone and Lokhra Zone.
Siddhartha Goswami, ACS, Joint Commissioner-II, GMC- West Zone and Dispur Zone.
Aditya Gogoi, ACS, Municipal Secretary, GMC- South Zone and East Zone.
