GUWAHATI: The Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested two persons and rescued a child from Pandu area in the city on Monday night, October 21.
Based on reports, the girl child was sold for Rs. 60,000 at Guwahati Railway Station by her father to an Anamika Das, sister of Anupama Das, a constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
The victim’s mother claimed that her husband sold their child, following which she lodged an FIR and the GRP launched an operation to rescue the girl.
