GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has appointed Ramanuj Hazarika as secretary to the one-man inquiry commission.
A notification was issued by the Department of Personnel (Personnel-A) in this regard, on March 28.

Hazarika, deputy secretary to the government of Assam in the Home & Political Department, has been assigned the additional charge of serving as secretary to the inquiry commission.
The Commission, headed by Justice (Retd.) B. D. Agarwal, was constituted to investigate the circumstances surrounding a police firing incident during an eviction drive conducted by the Darrang district administration in the Dhalpur area under Sipajhar Revenue Circle.

As Secretary to the Inquiry Commission, Hazarika will play a pivotal role in facilitating the Commission's investigations and ensuring the smooth conduct of proceedings.
