Assam Records Highest Voter Turnout In Phase 3; 81.56% Overall

 

GUWAHATI: Assam recorded the highest voter turnout among all the states in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. The third phase of India's general elections recorded an approximate voter turnout of 85.45%, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI), and the turnout came to be 81.56 per cent overall in the three phases. These figures represent preliminary data, with updates expected as polling parties return and field officers continue to submit information.

The state-wise breakdown of voter turnout for the third phase is as follows:
•    Assam: 81.61%
•    Bihar: 58.18%
•    Chhattisgarh: 71.06%
•    Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu: 69.87%
•    Goa: 75.20%
•    Gujarat: 58.98%
•    Karnataka: 70.41%
•    Madhya Pradesh: 66.05%
•    Maharashtra: 61.44%
•    Uttar Pradesh: 57.34%
•    West Bengal: 75.79%

These 11 states and union territories include 93 parliamentary constituencies. The ECI noted that the data does not include postal ballots and that actual figures for each polling station will be recorded in Form 17C, which is shared with all polling agents at the close of polling.
