The court ordered the government to act immediately to halt the rising popularity of lotteries, both in digital and physical formats. As part of the ruling, the Assam government is required to instruct Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) in every district to deny any permission for lottery-related activities.

The directive covers both online and offline lotteries, ensuring that no new lotteries are approved moving forward. Additionally, the court stressed the need for swift enforcement, instructing district officials to take prompt legal action against individuals or organizations involved in running such lotteries.

The Assam government has been given a one-week deadline to issue these instructions to district authorities.
