GUWAHATI: Doctors at GATE Hospital in Guwahati successfully performed five surgeries in five hours after two men were severely injured in a bike accident.
The two youths from Guwahati met with a severe accident in Zoo Road area of the city and were reportedly rushed to GATE hospital near Zoo-Narengi Road, close to Gita Mandir, Mathgharia.
The victims, identified as Dibjoti Bashiya and Lokisto Narzery, upon reaching the hospital were attended to immediately and had multiple injuries where one of the victim's intestines was also exposed.

A team of senior doctors, namely Dr. Bedabrata Pathak, Dr. Uttam Choudhary, Dr. Dhubo Narayan Bora, Dr. Pobin Kalita and Dr. Hrishikesh Hazarika conducted an intense surgery on the duo for five hours which was successful.
Following the operation, the duo were kept under observation in the ICU for 7 days and were later discharged from the hospital.
It is to be mentioned that the parents of the youths showered their gratitude upon the doctors and honoured the team of doctors with 'Gahmucha' and admitted that the hospital management conceived the entire surgery at a very nominal expense.
